Memphis Belle Stuka Plush

Memphis Belle Stuka Plush

A Scottish terrier named Stuka became the mascot of the Memphis Belle after Captain Jim Verinis, co-pilot of the Belle, bought her at a pet shop in London and brought her back where he was stationed at the USAAF barracks near Bassingbourn. The name Stuka, a contraction of Sturzkampf-flugzeug, is what Germans called their Junkers 87 dive bomber planes. After the Memphis Belle's 25th mission, Stuka and the crew returned to the United States on a three-month public relations tour in 1943.

Our plush version of Stuka has a dog tag that features the Memphis Belle nose art and her name, the collar it's attached to is olive drab paracord. Stuka measures approximately 11x10x7 inches.
